Orkas

Orkas is an open-source, local-first desktop AI workforce for research, coding, data analysis, documents and slides. A Commander plans tasks and coordinates specialist agents in parallel or sequence through one chat, using local files and tools the user authorizes.

The core app is free. Users can choose supported model providers or Orkas-provided model services; model usage and optional services may cost extra. macOS and Windows installers are available from the official website. Linux users can build from source.

For individuals and small teams that want to coordinate multi-step work and receive files on their own computer. Orkas requires model configuration and appropriate permissions for the work being performed.
