My experience on Favors.dev has been mixed, I will name what I have enjoyed so far first and then get to the points that would need some improvements. What I like: The whole idea of this platform is great, allowing new products and founders to get an head start without having to pay real money, it pushes people to actually interact and try out new products. In order to promote your product you have to help others out first. A great, scalable idea. I have got my first points after submitting a review on product hunt for someone else, it felt good to do someone a favor and receiving a reward for it. Additionally I like small details like that you can reserve a slot for a task. What could be improved: Most major issue is regarding the Project submission and the links you are allowed to submit, right before trying to submit my first project, which happened to be a Open-source one, im hit with a wall, forced to submit a other domain than a github repository, this wipes out all free…

Favors.dev solved the cold-start problem more concretely than the directories I tried. I completed a first-impression review for another founder, saw it approved, and used the earned points plus onboarding credits to publish my own developer-tool listing, launch rally, two first-impression bounties, one structured teardown, and five directory-submission requests. The append-only point ledger and reserved-before-work model make the exchange understandable, and badge verification published my listing immediately. The strongest parts are the project autofill, public rally page, specific task definitions, and proof requirements. The generated project copy still needs careful manual review; my first draft overstated what the Node server handled. Re-authentication also became confusing because magic links are bound to the browser session that requested them, and the dashboard becomes dense once several requests are open. I would improve the magic-link error guidance, make generated-claim review more prominent, and offer an honest plain “Listed on Favors.dev” badge alongside “Launched with.” Overall, the core exchange works: I gave another founder useful feedback, that work was approved, and my project gained a live page, launch ranking, and active feedback queue without cash spend.
